Description

1935. Wide 3 arch bridge; concrete faced with bullfaced
rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. 3 segmental headed
ashlar arch rings the centre slightly wider; rounded
cutwaters carried up as giant pilasters with corbelled
heads forming semi-circular cutwaters; similar giant pilaster
end piers; crenellated parapet splayed at north, where bridge
is approached by long causeway crossing small, single span
(flood) bridge of similar build.

Statement of Interest

Replaced Old Shiel Bridge approximately 500 yds down river.

River Shiel forms boundary with Ardnamurchan Parish.
