Description

Circa 1750. S facing house of 2 storeys wide 3 bays. Harled
rubble, tooled granite dressings. Centre door in centre
bay rising above wallhead as gablet with small attic
window and apex stack.
5 narrow 1st floor windows, paired in outer bays; single
diminutive attic light in each gable. 4-pane glazing.
Renewed end stacks; original cope to gablet stack; local
slate roof swept in gablet valleys.
Later single storey, 2-bay wing at E gable with Welsh
slate roof.

Built by Grants of Lurg.

Heavy local slates probably from Cnoc Fergan quarries near

Tomintoul skilfully lapped in gablet valleys.
