Circa 1800. Single span bridge. Segmental Arch. Harled random rubble with ashlar copes and pink sandstone ashlar voussoirs.
N & S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATIONS: sloped offsets with plain abutments supporting segmental arch: projecting imposts, ashlar voussoirs with projecting architvolt to extrados; partially harled rubble wing walls with flattened stone copes (some grey concrete replacements).
E & W ELEVATIONS: sloped wing walls to either side of tarmac roadway leading uphill to flat bridge.
This narrow bridge is now no longer in use. It is sited adjacent to a modern structure now used to carry the traffic on the A6093, the main route to Pencaitland and Haddington. The parish and county end beyond this bridge with Cranston, Midlothian becoming Ormiston, East Lothian. The bridge is quite plain in comparison to other bridges in the area. It was built before the "new road" building phase started within the parish and was not part of an estate proper, although it is near to what was the old Oxenfoord Castle's home farm.
