Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan house with Tudor-Gothic details, probably earlier 19th century alterations. Painted rubble; ashlar margins and dressings; droved quoins. 4-centre-arched windows and doors; chamfered reveals.

E ELEVATION: narrow door at centre, 2-leaf boarded. Flanking windows; windows symmetrically disposed at 1st floor; centre window leaded diamond-pane casement.

8-pane timber sash and case windows; leaded diamond glazing to cast-iron casement window. Grey slate piended roof with lead flashings; cast-iron rooflights at rear. Coped sandstone wallhead stacks, circular cans.

FORMER KENNELS/STABLES: L-plan single storey building attached at rear. Lime-washed rubble. 4-bay court elevation to principal range comprised of door to outer left, flanking door with blinded loft window above, window and further door to right; gabled, slate-hung hoist door to left. Broad boarded garage to inner return of shorter jamb.

Grey slate roof, lead flashings.

WALLED GARDEN: to south of cottage. Rubble wall with slab-coping; entrance in W wall, chamfered reveals.
