Later to late 19th century. 3-bay, 2-storey and attic bakers' premises with shopfronts to ground. Base course; central pilastered door with keyblocked round-arched surround and fanlight; outer pilasters supporting plinth and dentilled cornice above shops. Original 3-bay shopfront to L (recently restored, 2003) with segmental-headed openings, rusticated keystones and inverted anthemions dividing bays at head of slim engaged columns (possibly cast-iron); modern shopfront to R. 1st floor with central window flanked by tripartites, all segmental-headed with bracketted cills and architraves; dentilled cornice and blocking course above. Later bipartite attic dormers. Rendered and painted surface.
INTERIOR: modern shop interiors. Central close with consoled arch; decorative cast-iron balustrade with timber handrail to stair from ground to attic. Cornicing to 1st floor flat.
UPVC windows to 1st floor; possibly original windows to ground L. Grey slates; straight skews to R gable with tall, corniced ashlar stack and cans to R.
Possibly purpose built as a bakers premises with accommodation above, the building contained a Scotch oven to the rear (this was covered over circa 2002). There is a further later annex to the rear accommodating modern bakery equipment. The restored shopfront has improved the building and presents an attractive façade to Eglinton Street, the principal thoroughfare in Beith.
