Description

Dated 1876. Tiered public fountain in white and polished red granite. Quatrefoil basin with squat angle columns and projecting lip on 1 face. 2nd basin supported by solid central column and 4 banded columns with gabled bases and stylised capitals. Upper small basin sits on banded clustered column. Inscription to front reads; "Presented by Thomas Biggart of Baidland to the inhabitants of Dalry 1876". This fountain was moved from Courthill Street to Townsend Road in circa 2009-2010.
