Description

Erected 1839, and rebuilt 1867. Granite monument, with
stepped plinth, pedestal and tall slender obelisk.
Inscription on face of pedestal. Enclosed by plain iron
railings.

Statement of Interest

Inscription reads "In commemoration of the victory obtained

on this battlefield on sabbath the 1st of June 1679 by our

covenanting forefathers over Graham of Claverhouse and

his dragoons."

The dates are inscribed on the back.
