Description

U-plan steading with earlier ranges to E and W, reworked
circa 1800 into new buildings, enclosed at S by mid 18th
century farmhouse. Rubble with droved ashlar
dressings; much whitewashed inside. 2 cattle courts,
circa 1800, to W range with stone corbelled mid 19th
century pentice-roofed shelters. Former byre and bothy
to N range. Pend and barn to E range, raised and
extended E, with mid 19th century engine house.
Pantiles and some corrugated asbestos roofing.

Statement of Interest

N and W ranges in poor condition (1987). W range stepped in

slope of the land. Stalk and machinery removed. Farmhouse

and cottages to NW listed separately.
