Description

Mid 18th century with later additions. Single storey, 9-bay austere classical former laundry. Droved ashlar; N elevation squared and snecked rubble. Eaves cornice. Base and lintel courses. Raised margins, and long and short quoins.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 5 bays at centre advanced (early 19th century addition), with cornice and blocking course; panelled door at centre, with large (blocked) fanlight. Regular fenestration.

E ELEVATION: 4-bay (3-1), bay to right later. Boarded door in bay to right of centre, with 3-pane fanlight. Regular fenestration.

W ELEVATION: 3-bay. Regular fenestration. 2 doors and 2 windows to projection to left with pentice roof.

N ELEVATION: 7-bay; 3 bays at centre advanced; long projection adjoined in outer bay to right. Panelled door, originally window, in penultimate bay to left. Regular fenestration; small window between bays to left and centre; window in outer bay to left blocked. Ashalr-margined slate-hung piended dormer window in 5 bays to left.

24-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows; many windows boarded. Grey slates to piended roof. Ridge stacks, ashlar to S and N, brick to E and W.

INTERIOR: not seen (1990).
