Description

Early 19th century or possibly earlier. Small, tapered
tower of coursed rubble with red sandstone ashlar
coping. Low entrance to NW. 9 irregularly spaced holds
above base probably supported a reefing stage. At the
top a vestige of concrete which secured the windmill.
Bare interior.

Statement of Interest

Built as pumping mill for quarry. Marked on 1853 OS map

as "Windmill (Ruin of)".
