Mid 19th century, restored 1966. Double Kiln comprising
2-draw and 3-draw Kiln and central tunnel. Grey rubble
limestone, battered at W end. 3 vent-arches to central
tunnel. Each Kiln 30' high, that to W (now blocked)
being older. Section of Dunbar marble set in tunnel.
Originally ran by Broxmouth Estate; ceased operation in 1921. Coal-fired operation, lit by furze. Limeburners Cottages and Stables sited nearby, not included in current listing. Restoreed by East Lothian County Council.
