Description

Dated 1872. 3-arch bridge with cutwater buttresses with pilasters above; coped parapet; quadrant walls flanking to either side, terminated by square-plan piers. Squared and snecked stugged sandstone with rusticated dressings; brick soffits to segmental arches. Cornice. Date stone to centre, parapet of E elevation.

Statement of Interest

The bridge is a fine example of a more complex type. Edrom has a number of good bridges, for example those spanning the Blackadder and Whiteadder Waters near Allanton.
