Description

Early 19th century. Single storey and dormerless attic former symmetrical pair W facing, 2-bay cottages, now as single

dwelling. Rubble, tooled ashlar dressings. Ashlar canopied

entrances in outer bays, blocked at left (NW) as window. 1985

rubble rear wing forms T-plan, rising full height with

bipartite in centre E gable and entrance in S re-entrant

angle.

4-pane glazing; chamfered ashlar angles with run-off stops at

wallhead height; original centre ridge hexagonal coped stack; jerkin-headed graded local slate roof with deep ashlar

soffits and some modern skylights.

Statement of Interest

Sympathetic conversion to single dwelling in 1985.

41-45 Conicavel built by Darnaway Estate for (commercial)

salmon fishermen working on the Findhorn nearby; see also

Sluie Mains.
