Description

Late medieval vaulted rubble undercroft, much overgrown,
abuts 17th century, tall 2-storey, single bay gabled wing set
in slope; harl pointed with ashlar dressings to chamfered
single ground and 1st floor windows. Roofless.

Statement of Interest

Stands on steep knoll above present Dunphail House.

Originally owned by Cumins of Altyre and by Dunbar family

during 16th, 17th and early 18th century. Sold to Col. Lewis

Grant about 1738.
