Description

Dated 1925. Scottish Renaissance gate lodge, single storey
over raised basement (basement at S only) of irregular plan
and gabled elevations. Harl pointed rubble, bullfaced rubble
and tooled ashlar dressings. 2-bay elevations N and W facing
curved driveway, entrance in W re-entrant angle. Tripartite
fenestration in N and E elevations; multi-pane glazing.
Small square bartizan turret rises from wallhead at N with
bellcast pyramidal roof; thistle motif to base of wrought-
iron finial; coped wallhead stacks; crowstepped gables; slate
roof.
Enlarged windows with modern glazing to raised basement at S.
GATEPIERS: probably also 1925, pair square ashlar gatepiers
with crenellated caps; single wooden carriage gate.
