Description

Circa 1600. Beehive type dovecot, rubble with ashlar
dressings: stands on mound. Large, barrel shape, with usual 4
stages culminating in apex entrance for birds, concave
underside to 1st rat course; single small flight hole (now
blocked) at S above 1st rat course. Low doorway to E.
INTERIOR: about 700 stone nesting boxes in decreasing rows;
paved floor; marks in centre of former plinth to carry
potence.
