Description

1736. Plain 2-storey, 3-bay S facing house with crowstepped
1940's, 50's and 80's gabled additions at E projecting S to
form L-plan. Rubble, tooled ashlar dressings.
Centre door in original house, symmetrical fenestration.
Gabled and crowstepped 2-storey wing at E added in 2 stages,
1948 and 1952-3, 4-window single storey S projection in 1980.
4-pane glazing. Coped end stacks; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Old Manse sited close to Old Duffus Parish Church, now

roofless (Gaurdianship Monument) at the Kirkton of Duffus.

Glebe land excambed and new manse built in 1830 (now Glebe

House). Unusual survival of early 18th century manse.
