Description

Circa 1830. Twin arched rubble bridge. Rusticated ashlar arch
rings with blocked string course above; blind oculus in E
side spandrel. Tooled ashlar cope to low parapet; rounded
cutwater.
Approximate span of each arch; 27'.

Statement of Interest

Moy inundated during 1829 floods. This bridge probably

replaced the previous 'stout wooden bridge' that spanned the

Muckle Burn in 1798.
