Description

2 Braehead is a late 18^th century, two-storey (single storey at rear) three-bay house. The property is located at the centre of a row of three similar houses on sloping ground at Collessie Brae, to the south of Collessie Kirk, Collessie, Fife. It is rubble-built with a pantiled roof (formerly thatched) with ashlar skews and brick chimney stacks.

Statement of Interest

2 Braehead is a representative example of a traditional house that retains its historic character and setting in the centre of the village of Collessie. This property had a thatched roof until around 1978. It shares its unusual split-level character with the adjoining buildings to either side (both listed separately, LB154 and LB2471).

Statutory address revised and category of listing changed from B to C in 2021. Previously listed as 'Collessie, Braehead'.
