Description

Built 1844-5; renovated and converted to hall, 1955, L A Rolland of Leven, architect. Rectangular-plan. Harled. Projecting skew-gabled porch to east gable and to long south wall, both with shouldered openings. 3 canted-headed windows to south wall, 2 to north wall and 2 pointed-headed windows on east gable, all with lattice glazing.

Some smaller window openings. Corbelled and finialled bellcote with shouldered openings over east gable. Slate roof. Partly enclosed by rubble-built wall with corniced, droved ashlar diamond-plan gatepiers.

Statement of Interest

Author of NSA in December 1844 mentions Free Church "...at present erecting" at Arncroach; Ewing says "opened 1845".

No longer in ecclesiastical use.

Listed B for unusual glazing pattern.
