Description

Gate piers (southern dated 1714, northern 1745). Square piers
with rusticated lower courses, banded and fluted above,
carved frieze, cornice and urn finials. 1886 wrought iron
gates, Sir Robert Lorimer. Dovecots: circa 1745, 2 circular
dovecots linked to gatepiers by low quadrant walls. Built in
squared rubble each with round arched doorway (blocked) with
rusticated and keyblocked dressings; continuous rat course at
about 5'; paired corniced, flight holes; simple eaves
cornice, conical slate roof with central birdcage
accommodating further flight holes.
