Probably James Gillespie Graham, arcitect. Built circa 1820 with some later additions. Castellated Gothic stable range 1 and 2 storeys including workshop range; U-plan around inner courtyard block. 7-bay castellated Gothic west front is polished yellow ashlar: mostly blind openings. Central bay has paired lancets in tall pointed panel, flanked by engaged octagonal piers rising above parapet, and castellated. Outer
bays advanced with Tudor-arched openings in recessed panels, blind pointed windows and slit loft openings to intermediate bays. Crenellated parapet, stepped to central and outer bays. Remainder rubble-built with ashlar dressings. North wing has 3 stepped roof pitches; segmental- headed pend with dovecot above to courtyard elevation, and variety of door and window openings. Central courtyard block has 2-storey west
elevation; 3 arcaded, segmental-headed cart entrances below 12-pane sashes. Gabled and piended slate roofs.
Gillespie Graham designed Kilmaron House, and it is likely that he also designed the stables.
