Description

Late 18th/early 19th century with additions probably second
quarter of 19th century. Farm steading, detached tall
rectangular barn with stables and byre, remainder of steading
L-plan, enclosing barn and stables at N and W, courtyard
between blocks. All rubble-built with ashlar dressings,
roofs covered with graded slates.
BARN AND STABLES: heightened several feet and clasped on 2
sides (N and E) by byre and shed addition with main roof
swept over.
S ELEVATION: off-centre door at both levels with pulley hoist
at eaves, tiers of slit ventilators right, 3-bay stable left
with central door at ground and at loft. Byre to court with
roof ventilators, shed at E now a garage.
Remainder of steading plainer, ranges at W asymmetrically
arranged and stepped to slope.
