Earlier 19th century. Symmetrical 2-storey and basement, 3-bay, square-plan house. Coursed yellow sandstone blocks with raised, droved grey stone dressings to openings, eaves course, gable wallheads and vertical margins at quoins. Harled gable elevations and rear.
SW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to central door; replacement panelled door with fanlight; pilastered ashlar doorpiece with cornice. Flanking windows. Steps lead up to replacement glazed ground floor door to right. 3 1st floor windows centred above front door and ground floor windows. Steps to right of front door lead down to basement floor; central door with flanking windows. Decorative metal handrail flanks entrance steps and continues as plain railings in front of house to meet windows.
NW ELEVATION: 1st floor window to right.
NE ELEVATION: central mid-floor stair window; 1st floor window to left. Modern piended kitchen addition to rear left.
SE ELEVATION: plain gable.
12-pane timber sash and case windows with horns. Central small rooflight to rear. Pitched, slate roof; raised skews; corniced gable apex stacks; polygonal clay cans.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1999.
GARDEN WALL
Rubble wall; rounded coping stones runs from left and right of SW elevation enclosing long linear garden.
Good example of simple, earlier 19th century classical villa.
