Description

Circa 1800. 2-storey house (former inn), with asymmetrical

ground floor; pend with loft over. Whitewashed rubble with

contrasting painted margins. Off-centre door with fanlight

and simple canopy; shallow pend arch right (boarded door)

(square-headed at rear); 4 windows to each floor (all sashes

with 12-pane glazing pattern), 1st floor windows in 2 + 2-bay arrangement. 4 symmetrically-placed end and axial stacks (3

rebuilt in brick); roofed with graded slates.

Rear elevation has boarded loft door beside pend.

Statement of Interest

Formerly the Crown Inn. "Tusk" stone at SE suggests original

intention to extend.
