Description

Charles Howitt, architect in style of William Burn. Built
circa 1858. Picturesque single storey and attic cottages.
Stugged and snecked pink ashlar with chamfered reveals,
shallow relieving arches and painted wooden mullions; single
or mullioned windows with lying-pane glazing. West (roadside)
elevation: 4 bays; advanced wide gable right, gabled porch in
re-entrant angle, identical porch at left beyond tripartite
window (gabled wall-head dormer above latter). Axial stacks
with paired diamond flues. Bracketted eaves; finialed gables;
slate roofs; 2-bay rear wing alongside. set behind
ashlar-coped low wall with battered square gatepiers.
