Description

Earlier/mid 19th century. Single-storey piend-roofed cottage. Rubble-built with ashlar dressings, all whitewashed. 4 bays

with outer doors (former Coshogle Castle door re-used as left

door) and inner bipartites (one mullion removed); full height

circa 1940 (lavatory) addition to right. Coped central ridge

stack; roofed with graded slates. Re-used doorway is

segmental-arched (other openings square-headed) with

roll-moulding, and is flanked by much-worn carved blocks (?

label stops).

Statement of Interest

Possibly built as 2 cottages. Now empty (1984) Re-set doorway

noted in RCAHM INVENTORY, 1920 no. 165.
