Description

George Smith, dated 1835. Single storey, L-plan Tudor-gothic detailed gabled lodge. Coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings and chamfered arrises. Base course, stone mullions. 2-bay entrance elevation with stone gabled porch to right, slightly recessed with 4-centre-arched lintel and timber door, arrowslit in gablehead. Ball finial defining entrance step and thistle finial.; broader gabled bay to left with 4-light canted window with slated piend roof. Left return with

2 advanced gabled panels with bipartite windows, arrowslits in gableheads. Rear elevation with substantial flat-roofed modern additions, screened from public view by earlier walls.

Lying-pane timber glazing patterns in sash and case windows with pointed heads. Graded grey slate roof. Ashlar coped skews with bracketed skewputts. Diamond-set gablehead and ridge intersection stacks with deep coping. Pyramidal and thistle finials. Decorative rainwater head to left of entrance.
