Ornamental building built in second half of 18th century and
known as the Kellie Mausoleum, with 2 recumbent memorial
slabs lying at front (S), the earlier a memorial to the 7th
Earl of Kellie, who died in 1797; but he is said to be buried
abroad and the building may originally have been an
eyecatcher or folly (ie not necessarily built circa 1797). Rectangular-plan with monopitch roof, south front with blind
(?blocked) gothic window central (possibly an insertion);
entrance door in west flank (original use of interior is
uncertain). Rubble-built, squared dressings, ashlar window,
slate roof.
The second recumbent slab is a memorial to Lady Anne Erskine,
sister of the 7th Earl.
Category C(S) only for neglected condition.
Possibly a conversion from a dovecot.
