Description

Dtaed 1715, upper storey added 1819. Square 2 storey
structure of rubble construction, roughcast walls, ashlar
dressings. Angle pilasters with projecting dripstones(?).
Heavily moulded cornice surmounted by slated dome with
ogeed top. 1st floor windows with chamfered margins,
depressed arch to vault doorway with rusticated surround
dated 1715 and "Closed 1884". Two slabs. dated 1604 and 1606,
from table tombs to James Kincaid seal the entry. Weathered
heraldic panel rectangular dripmould over. Outside stone
stairway towards garden with 1st floor doorway dated 1819.

Statement of Interest

This building is on eastside of the churchyard and astride

the graveyard wall. According to RCAHM Inventory the upper

storey was added by Miss Lennox (in 1819) to serve as a

waiting-room between services.
