Earlier 19th century. Single storey; 3 bay cottage with later 20th century extensions and conservatory to rear. Tooled and squared sandstone front with polished dressings; long and short rusticated quoins.
SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 3 bay, near symmetrical, comprising central glazed, panelled timber door with letterbox fanlight; pointed arched timber basket traceried windows to flanking bays; rubble lean to addition to outer left.
NE ELEVATION: Snecked rubble with droved dressings; 12 pane casement window to outer right of ground and 4 pane window to near centre of 1st floor; later 20th century addition to far right.
NW ELEVATION: 1991. 2 bay, harled extension advanced to left, with timber sash and case windows to ground floor and circular window set in gable; timber framed conservatory to right, with piended roof and two roof lights.
SW ELEVATION: Harled gable end to outer right, with slate roofed rubble lean to; recessed 1986 extension to centre, harled, with segmental arched timber framed windows; conservatory to outer left.
Timber sash and case windows. Graded purple/grey slate roof with lead ridges; stone skews; cast iron rainwater goods; gablehead stacks with circular cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1997.
Similar to No 50 Dewartown (see separate list description), but with traceried windows. Similar cottages can also be found at several of the farms in Borthwick parish.
