Description

G T Ewing 1908. Edwardian Renaissance, symmetrical
single-storey double-pile, front SE pile shorter than that at
rear, gabled porches in re-entrant angles, coursed bullfaced
rubble with ashlar dressings, gabled slated roofs with
overhanging eaves. Distinctive treatment. Main SE front has
central 3-window gable rising concave to central panel with
bell, centre bay advanced with triple keyblock window,
3-window flanking sections central windows raised in roof
with panelled gablets and simple thistle motifs, ashlar
aprons, all with original small-paned glazing doric columned
rotunda ventilator - cupola at roof.

Statement of Interest

Good unspoiled example of Edwardian country school.
