Description

Circa 1908. U-plan single storey and attic stables and gardener's house (the latter in NW arm). Stugged and snecked sandstone rubble (repointed); capacious low swept slated roof, as house, swept at E and W from ridge over dormer windows, then set back behind dormer windows, continuing down to and overhanging at ground floor. Mullioned bipartite and tripartite windows with leaded glazing, altered at N (courtyard) elevations with modern doors and windows. Wallhead gables in NW and NE re-entrant angles containing (NW) tripartite attic window and (NE) hay-loft opening with hoist at apex. Decorative cupola at centre of ridge, with 8 dwarf columns on corniced plinth, corniced above and with leaded cupola and finial.
