Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. Single storey L-plan gate lodge.

Stugged, squared and snecked stone with droved ashlar dressings.

N ELEVATION: 3-bay; outer bay to right gabled and advanced with window and arrow slit ventilator at apex; doorway at centre by re-entrant angle, panelled door; window in outer bay. Timber mullioned bipartite on E gabled return elevation.

W ELEVATION: advanced gabled bay to left with off-centre window; small window by re-entrant angle, of rear wing. 6-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows to N and W. Grey slates; overhanging eaves with timber brackets. Corniced ashlar end stacks.

Square, corniced,ashlar gatepiers (1 displaced, 1988); semi-circular coped rubble retaining walls.
