Description

Late 18th century. Circular dovecot. Rubble with battered base, ashlar rat course, door margins and corbels at eaves. Doorway to roadside. Conical, grey slate roof; decorative octagonal timber lantern (providing flight-holes) with leaded dome and weathervane. Touching steading range to S. Interior lined with 710 nesting boxes.

Statement of Interest

Prominently place in Bolton village. A more ornate circular dovecot of a similar type nearby, is that at Keith Marischal Steading, Humbie.
