Description

Late 17th century. Lean-to lectern dovecot, converted to store, adjoining cottage to W and outbuilding to E. Rectangular-plan, random rubble with ashlar quoins, ashlar rat course, pantiles, slates and crowsteps with small brick stack to outer left. Some stone nesting boxes lining wall.

S ELEVATION: blocked opening at centre, voussoirs over square lintel indicate probable original opening; later door to left of centre and later small opening to right, later glazed window at centre above.

N ELEVATION: wooden stair to door at left (not original).

Statement of Interest

Originally with 595 nesting boxes. Known previously as Grange Doocot belonging to the no longer extant Grange Farm.
