Lodge: probably David Bryce, circa 1866. Gothic, 2-storey,
2-bay cruciform gate lodge. Coursed rubble, tooled sandstone
dressings. Gabled north front with entrance porch in NE
re-entrant angle in square porch with crenellated parapet;
flanking shallow rectangular bay window with stone slab
pyramidal roof and 3-light pointed headed windows; above
blocked hoodmoulded window infilled with Ellice monogram and inscription. Gabled single bays east and west with
pointed-headed bipartites in ground floor and pointed headed
1st floor windows with Y-tracery.
Single storey, single bay rear wing with steeply pitched
piended roof.
Saw tooth skews; tall centre coped stack; slate roofs.
Gate piers; lodge flanked by cast-iron spearhead railings
on low coped wall and linked to pair plain square ashlar gate
piers with shallow pyramidal caps; matching pair cast-iron
spearhead carriage gates.
Iscription reads "Pax intrantibus salus exeuntibus".
