Bonar Bridge

Description

Andrew Maitland, 1852. Single storey, near symmetrical
6-bay school and schoolhouse; harl pointed rubble, tooled
rubble dressings. To east, 3-bay schoolhouse with advanced
centre gabled porch, with round-headed entrance, double
leaf plank door and fanlight. Schoolroom in west portion,
with similarly detailed porch in outer bay; 12-pane glazing.
Large multi-pane window in east gable to light school room,
with later window slapped at left. Finial at east apex;
corniced ridge and end stacks slate roof.
Small contemporary, or near contemporary gabled wing to
rear of schoolroom.
