Description

1766, repaired 1791; earlier 19th century additional
wing. Originally 2-storey and attic, 3-bay house with
centre door, with later projecting 2-bay wing rising full
height masking centre door in south elevation. All harled.
Late 19th century canted bay window rises full-height of
outer west bay of original house; further ground floor
canted bay window in east elevation of later wing, additional
single storey wing to west gable; 3 early 19th century
piended dormers; 1 later 19th century canted dormer;
mainly 4-pane glazing; corniced end stacks; slate roof.

Listed for historical associations. Childhood home of

Donald Sage, author of MEMORABILIA DOMESTICA, PARISH LIFE

IN THE NORTH OF SCOTLAND, in which the house is described

in some detail as it stood in 1800.
