Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-bay house
with late single storey rear extensions. Harled with ashlar
dressings and quoins.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3 bays grouped towards centre.
Chamfered arrises to ground floor openings. Decorative
fanlight to door flanked by windows. 3, 1st floor windows.
N ELEVATION: later broad, lop-sided gabled projection
added, lower, piend-roofed extension adjoined to earlier
cottage, formerly serving as offices. Piend roofed porch
added by the main house to W.
12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows, with some
modern windows to extensions at E elevation. Piend roof with
wallhead stacks to main house; grey slates.
WALLED GARDEN: squared and snecked sandstone walls, about 8'
high, with semi-circular coping to a rectangular plan garden
with E and W walls curved. Wide opening by house and pedestrian
gateway to W.
