Description

Late 18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay house set in slope,
raised for attic soon after, with smaller 2-store 3-bay
cottage adjoined.
Random rubble with stugged ashlar dressings and raised
droved door surround.
Sited on ground falling to N.
S ELEVATION: bridging 1st floor doorway with decorative
cast-iron railings. Windows flanking to ground floor below
road level and 1st floor in close grouping. Later cottage
to E with no recessed area, central fanlit door flanked
by windows at road level.
N ELEVATION: original house 3 bays with door at centre and
irregular window arrangement. Piend-roofed, harled, circa
1900 extension of 2 storeys to later cottage at left.
W GABLE: doorway to outer right, window to left. 1st floor
window to outer left with small central attic window.
Variety of glazing patterns, mainly in sash and case
windows. Ashlar coped skews; gable end stacks. Grey slates.
Boundary wall: rubble coped rubble boundary walls, abutting
house to above 1st floor height at NW angle.
