Description

18th century lectern dovecot, converted by Morris and
Steedman, 1971, as residence. Adjoined to walled garden
of manse to N. Pink sandstone rubble with broadly
droved ashlar dressings and concrete repairs. Original
doorway in centre of S elevation blocked, with large
semi-circular window inserted, 1971, and taller doorway
to left. Rat course to remaining sides, and square
windows altered/inserted. Further large modern doorway
added to N. Ashlar coped skews and N wall raised at
centre, currently with flue.

Apparently dovecot was built to increase stipend of

Minister and parish funds for the poor. Church closeby.
