Description

Later 18th century, 2 storey and attic, 3-bay house with
later 19th century singled storey and attic, 3 bay wing at
east gable. Harled, painted chamfered ashlar margins to
old house, tooled ashlar to later wing. Older portion with
centre door in centre gabletted bay; blocked detailing
to jambs, centre 1st floor window and small apex chimney.
Large projecting piended porch. 2 windows in ground floor,
west bay; 2 piended dormers; pane glazing; Later wing
with 3 piended dormers rising through wallhead; 12-pane
glazing. Crowsteps; corniced end stacks; slate roofs.
Lean-to extension to rear.

Statement of Interest

Former Manse. Church (in ruins below manse) and manse

taken over by Sir John Lochart Ross of Balnagown, who

built a new Manse, and re-named the old one Marybank.

Later 18th century datestone said to be beneath harling.
