Description

Dated 1844. Simple low T-plan church, with wing to north and

entrances masked by small porches in NE and NW re-entrant

angles. All rubble with tooled rubble dressings. Shallow

pointed-headed windows, 4 in long south elevation, with small

Minister's room projecting in centre; similar windows in

gables and rear wing. Simple wooden mullion and transom with

plain Y-struts in upper lights and lattice pane glazing. End

stack to Minister's room; artificial slate roof. Interior;

plain interior, with rear wing now partitioned as separate room. Slightly raked seating; circa 1860 Gothic panelled rectangular

pulpit with angle carved wooden ball finials and lower front

session clerk's desk; wide coved tester, with moulded ribs and

cornice decorated with 4 simple pendants. Simple roughly coped

drystone enclosing wall with pair wooden gates with Gothic

detailing.
