Harbour; James Fraser, Civil Engineer, 1892. Projecting
masonry pier, forming L-plan harbour basin. Coursed rubble.
Fishing Store; early-mid 19th century, 2-storey, 5-bay
symmetrical south facing fishing store, with forestairs
leading to 1st floor entrances in east and west gables.
Rubble, dressed rubble dressings. 5 entrances in ground
floor, with regular fenestration above; small windows in 2nd
floor; all windows shuttered. Further entrance in centre, 2nd
floor of east gable with evidence of hoist above. Corrugated
asbestos roof.
Ice house; early-mid 19th century vaulted ice house, built
into side of hill, flanked by high rubble retaining wall.
All rubble icehouse, tooled rubble dressings, all whitewashed
on projecting, rounded south gable. Rounded, turfed roof.
Interior: ante chamber leads to icehouse proper: original
door survives.
"The bay (Dunbeath) is an excellent fishing station". (c.1858).
Plans of harbour dated September 1892, and signed
by James Fraser, 5 October 1892. No pier or basin before
1892.
