Description

Earlier/mid 19th century 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse, with steading to north. House built of squared and snecked rubble; central panelled door with fanlight and 8-pane sashes to south elevation. straight skews, corniced end stacks and slate roof. 2 low paarallel wings to north, one with segmental-arched cart opening, now window, other with altered, large lintelled entrance. Steading may incorporate some earlier fabric. Composed of 2 principal blocks, 1 L-plan partly enclosing rectangular block of 4 parallel ranges, and with L-plan courtyard between, partly roofed (modern) at west. Single storey with lofts, rubble-built with ashlar dressings. L-plan block has 6 arcaded, segmental-headed cart openings to courtyard elevation of north wing, loft door and 6 square boarded loft openings above; east wing has 6 bays to courtyard, 2 low bays to right, segmental-headed pend (broader arch to court-yard) to left, door beween, flanked by windows; 3 square loft openings. Blocked openings to outer walls. Rectangular parallel ranges have some large, altered lintelled openings to south and to east elevations. Pantile roofs, mostly piended.
