Description

1794, originally simple round-arched rectangle with
4-window S. flank with door each gable and plain ball
capped bird-cage bellcote at W. Surface granite, red
dressings, skewputts. Repaired 1852, Wm. Buyers. Reseated
1871. Galleries renewed Wm Christie 1877, horseshoe gallery on
cast iron columns with arcades at upper level. Organ
chamber apse added to S. flank 1900-1, perhaps Jenkins and
Marr who were doing work at manse at same date. Interesting
group of monuments, Andrew Robertson + 1817, John Robertson
+ 1824, fine George and Alex Udny + 1788 by John Bacon
R. A. and John Augustus Udny + 1859. Mears and Stainbank
bell, 1760 recast 1905.
