Description

Early 19th century double-pile house. 2 storeys, attic and
basement with flanking single storey and basement wings.
Symmetrical 3-bay entrance elevation; harled walls, raised
polished rusticated quoins and margins. Perron stair with
simple cast-iron balusters oversails basement to raised
ground floor entrance: Roman Doric pedimented porch; door
with glazed fanlight. Semi-circular small-pane window below
platt of perron stair. All single light sash windows with
12-pane glazing. Band course at eaves, moulded cornice.
Flanking wings additions of circa 1970 sympathetic in detail
and proportion. Slated roofs, skews. Corniced rusticated end
stacks. 2 piended dormers.
Rear elevation similarly detailed with some bipartite windows
to 1st floor. Sundial on later pedestal to basement.
INTERIOR: much woodwork and plasterwork restored or renewed;
some good resited early 19th century chimneypieces.
