Probably circa 1870. Inscribed memorial stone to Henry Scott
Riddell, poet. Polished grey granite low upright slab with
flanking scrolls, inscription panel on S face; raised on stepped
red ashlar base.

Inscribed "Erected/to the memory of/Henry Scott Riddell/poet/

author of Scotland Yet/Born near this spot 23rd Sept. 1798/Died

at Teviothead 30th July 1870".
