Description

Earlier/mid 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3-bay
cottage with Batty Langley derived castellated main (W)
front. Coursed, stugged and painted unusually large ashlar
blocks, polished red dressings and frontispiece.
W ELEVATION: advanced central bay clasped by castellated
pilaster shafts, cusped ornament over openings, crenellated
courtyard (W).
gable at attic level, 2 tapered columns in antis flank
recessed door; hood-moulded tripartites in outer bays with
blind outer lights, piended dormers; cornice; straight skews
with pinnacles over angles; end stacks; roofed with graded
slates, main roof swept down to low level at rear. Walled
garden to front (W), steading adjoins at rear.
